About the role:

• Domestic assistance duties such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Personal duties including showering and personal care
• Providing more complex care to high needs clients
• Provide transportation to clients
• Create meaningful experiences for our clients to thrive and live independently
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and policies at all times

About the Organisation:

St John’s Community Care is one of the largest not for profit service providers in Far North Queensland servicing 8 centres across Qld. We enrich the lives of the elderly and people with disability by providing in home support that assists them to remain living in their home independently.

About you:

• You will be able to show empathy and have patience for people everyday
• Strong communication skills and ability to report to supervisors regularly
• A happy and cheerful personality 
• The ability to remain calm under pressure
• Prior experience in the community care sector or transferrable skills
• Experience in the use of technology
• Strong ability and desire to learn and grasp concepts quickly
• Thrive and can multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Energetic, self-motivated and results orientated
